Chicago in the spring

It's my first Chicago spring in four years. I’m a Chicago girl through and through, but spent 2020-2023 in the Pacific Northwest (which has its own glorious advantages to Spring). I’m in love with being home this year- there’s nothing like the millions of tulips along the Mag Mile, gorgeous cherry blossoms blooming in the parks, and flora popping up to make my heart go ZING. They are coming, my friends- mark my words, they are coming.
It’s been a long winter, lovers— but we’re almost there.
I plan to post twice a month here, which is what I want you to expect. This month was different- I came home from my back-to-back visits to New York and LA to my sweet little dog in need of emergency spinal surgery. It’s a whole new level of caregiving for me, and one I’m deeply committed to. (My dog is my angel- only pet lovers will understand). Wish both of us luck during this healing journey. All of that is to thank you for your patience. You’re still here, and I’m still very much here! 1+1=2, baby. I would love to share about my tours. New York was wonderful— it always is. I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Nobu, spent time with some stunning colleagues, took a dreamy evening walk through Central Park, and completed the visit with a hot coffee and my first morning walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, a certain suggestion from my Italian lover (it was cold and sunny— and amazingly beautiful.)
Los Angeles treated me like no other. I found myself swept away for a FMTY by a incredible man who took amazing care of me (and quite honestly, gifted me the closest thing to a vacation I’ve had in a long time). We dreamily enjoyed one another, good food, and even a day trip driving through the canyons complete with a hike together. I can’t wait to be with you again, T. Your affection makes me want to shower you right back…
PNW, you’ll be up next— and you’re on my mind. PDX and SEA lovers, I miss you and am looking forward to being reunited. We can dream about it in the meantime. Meanwhile, I’m back home in Chicago and preparing to move to a new apartment in early April. Lots of changes around these parts, and I’m welcoming them with open arms. Don’t be a stranger, lover- our future memories await. FMTY- or perhaps fly YOU to me? Architecture cruise and oysters? Walk among the flowers, drinks, and stumbling back together for a heavy session? Chicago is truly beautiful in the spring, and I’m the only tour guide you’ll ever need. We’ve got the location, me (back in the right city), the only thing missing is you.
