April
spring awakening
It’s a dream of mine to tour different bath houses around the world. The furthest houses I have visited are the Nordic Centralbadet in Stockholm (gorgeous art nouveau style with a magical courtyard) and of course the wonderous Blue Lagoon in Reykjavik, where you can swim around to little moats where staff is eagerly waiting to place a dollop of what seems like goop into your hand (it’s a face mask) before wading to either the bar (this all happens while you’re still in the water; it’s a one-stop shop) or the drinking fountains where clean, delicious, super cold water awaits. The closest and remaining King of Bathhouses in the Chicago area continues to be the 24-hour King Spa in Niles. I first visited the Korean Spa in 2014 and was blown away. It’s a place I love to enjoy solo, it’s a place I equally love to bring friends. This is a spot to rest your body, mind, spirit, and completely lose track of time. Nearly every local woman in my life indulges here but hardly any men I know do, so I’m sharing it with you because spas are for every body! (& shout out to my lady followers, I see you.) I spent New Years Eve there some years ago. The last hours of that particular year went a little like this: soak, full-body scrub, massage, red-light therapy, stretches, oxygen room, another soak, Korean food, moisturize, and fall asleep with a smile on my face while watching The Godfather in the movie room. Upon awakening I went downstairs immediately and was the first to enjoy the pools again on the first day of the year. It was heaven on earth. I recently had a sweet man inquire about what would be a good gift year round/something that will never shift with my interests or the seasons. First, this was such a sweet question. Second, the answer will always be a gift card to the King Spa, followed very closely by any experiences to Aire Chicago. They are totally different vibes, and both absolutely amazing. Who says you have to choose? Even better if you’d like to come along with me- the key is in your hands.

March flew by for me in all good ways, I hope it was the same for you. I began my month with a fun concert date in Milwaukee and will be closing it at a dinner with one of my favorite suitors. I want to thank those of you who spent time with me this month with a shout out to my gentleman who gifted six months of yoga to me on my behalf - I nearly cried about it. To all clients: never question the power of how impactful we can be to one another in this special world, this amazing container we share. The boundaries of what we do are essential, but the warmth, love, and support we share is very honest, very real. It’s such a beautiful place to exist when you freely let it in.
Fun update: I colored my hair to its original color. I am now just like every other woman (lol). A pop of gray remains in the front for the lovers, it’s become my signature. I shared this shift with a few people before taking the plunge and to my surprise nearly everyone said they were really going to miss it. The truth is… hair is so personal, and it’s natural to go through different seasons and desires. For now, we are embracing the dark. (She’s so pretty).
I’ve some travel coming up in April. Seattle, I’ll be with you 4/7-9. Portland, I’ll be in you late 4/9 through early 12th. I am so excited. Spring is just gorgeous in the PNW. This will be a fun and fast-paced trip, so reach out right away if you’d like to meet. withsophia@pm.me // more details right here. A thing I am pushing myself to do is invite in abundance and receive with ease— so I’m going to ask that you reach out to me if you would like to support my safe travels in any way. It could be putting me in a hotel for a couple of nights, sending funds for a new outfit or for dinner, or perhaps sponsoring for a Lyft to the airport. I’ve received incredible support before and will continue to ask for all things good. I love being taken care of, spoiled, and really getting to support you in return.
Seattle: 4/7-9
Portland: 4/9-early 12
Chicago: forever.
Everything is about to be in bloom for us, so let’s step in together. Sending good energy to all, and I’ll catch you shortly. Happy April.
